Darragh Ó Sé Launches Central Region CLG

Tonight, Darragh Ó Sé officially launched the Central Region ClG in front of a large crowd in the Kerins O'Rahillys clubrooms. Guest Speakers on the night were Chairman of Kerry County Committee Mr. Jerome Conway, Chairman of Central Region Mr Liam Ó Rócháin and of course Kerry Legend Darragh Ó Sé. Jerome Conway reminded those attending of the background to the formation of the Central Region. Last year the Fixtures Review Committee proposed rearranging the County into four regions - North, South, East and Central thus providing underage teams with regular, competitive games and fulfilling the GAA motto "play and stay with the GAA". Liam Ó Rócháin introduced the Officers of the new committee and also thanked the sponsors for coming on board. Darragh spoke eloquently to the assembled crowd and reminded all present of the importance of grassroots GAA and nurturing young players. He wished the new committee every success and was delighted to have been asked to perform the official launch.

The Central Region ran a competition asking primary school children to design their new logo. The winner was announced tonight and the winner is Pádraig O' Connell from Castleisland Boys NS. Pádraig has won a set of footballs for his school, kindly sponsored by Kerry County Committee.
