Last years beaten Corn Ui Mhuiri finalists Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne will get a second bite of the cherry as they came good late to deservedly see off the challenge of a brave Tralee CBS side in a keenly contested semi final played in ideal conditions at the Dr Crokes Grounds Lewis Rd on Sunday afternoon.

It was a tight contest and while the West Kerry side always looked the more likely side, it was only the final ten minutes that they drove home their advantage.
It was a game that saw the Ó Sé  clan on different sides as Marc as joint Tralee CBS manager, was plotting the downfall of PS Chorca Dhuibhne his old alma mater ( though known as Dingle CBS at the time) while his first cousin Padraig Óg Ó Sé was captain of the West Kerry school and probably man of the match!

Team manager John Flannery was relieved afterwards with the way the lads had responded after Tralee CBS had rallied
"I will have to look back on the game because when you are on the sideline you don't feel at ease at any time, especially when you are four points up and allow Tralee back into it. But overall I thought that we played better in the second half and particularly in the last fifteen minutes we were in control and in the ascendancy and we pulled through thank God"

Flannery agreed that while it might not have been the perfect performance, he felt that it was always going to be tough against Tralee " You must remember we were up against a great team today, because they had a serious forward line. While we made a lot of mistakes - you will find that they forced us into a lot of those mistakes. Its great to something to work on for the final, especially since it is Macroom"

The battling qualities of his side when the chips were down pleased the manager " I think the way the lads reacted when the game was in the balance in the second half, pleased me most. We won a lot of ball around the middle despite losing Barry O'Sullivan who was our best midfielder at the time, he had to retire injured, and fellows stepped up to the plate. They were calm and they were collected, they did not panic and I suppose the bit of experience from last year, stood to them. We are looking forward to the Munster Final now and it will all about getting everyone ready for the day and it will be another big day for West Kerry and the school"

PS Chorca Dhuibhne dominated for long periods but failed to put Tralee CBS away, despite the inspirational play of Padraig Ó Sé  at centre back, Barra O Suilleabhain and Eanna O Conchuir at midfield and the strong running Dara  Ó Sé on the forty.

PS Chorca Dhuibhne raced into a 0-4 to 0-0 lead inside the opening eleven minutes, thanks to points from Barra O Suilleabhain, Micheal O Flannura, Tomas O Caomhanaigh ( free) and wing back Padraig O Dubhain. The West Kerry side were denied a goal in the 14th minute when Eanna Reidy turned a Shane O hUallacháin pile driver around the post for a forty five.

Tralee CBS eventually got going in the 15th with a fine point from wing back Tom McLoughlin and with Chorca Dhuibhne turning the ball over in attack, Tralee rallied with three unanswered points from Jack Savage (2) and one from Greg Horan to close the gap to a single point but late first half points from Barra O Suilleabhain and Dara  Ó Sé saw PS Chorca Dhuibhne lead 0-6 to 0-4 at the interval.

The sides were level on 0-7 apiece by the 40th minute and then Chorca Dhuibhne edged 0-10 to 0-8 clear thanks to two Brian O Raoill points by the 50th minute.
However driven on by the impressive Padraig  Ó Sé , PS Chorca Dhuibhne finished the stronger with four Dara  Ó Sé  frees as Tralee CBS were forced to foul as Dingle came good and now they face Del La Salle Macroom in a Kerry Cork final in the Fitzgerald Stadium on March 4th .
