Incredible - magnificent - enthralling - heart stopping - words could not describe this epic Munster Vocational Senior A Hurling final played at Croagh on Saturday which saw Kerry kingpins Causeway come from five points down on three different occasions, to pip a Len Gaynor coached Nenagh VS by a single point in one of the greatest comebacks in this competition ever.
Causeway, were superbly led by their captain and midfielder Daniel Collins, who simply refused to accept defeat and lads like Paudie O'Connor, Tom McElligott, Keith Carmody and Tommy Casey hurled as if their lives depended on it, as Causeway got up off the canvas three times.

It was another great day for Kerry hurling and Causeway are certainly the nursery that is ensuring that game is going from strength to strength. Pity the man who is Mr Causeway CS, Willie Dowling could not make the game because of a back injury picked up the previous day but I am pretty sure when he got a text from his great friend John Leahy at ten to four on Saturday, his back either improved or his leap of joy, might have made the situation worse.

Causeway had a team of heroes but players who excelled included fullback Colman Savage, wingback Keith Carmody, centre back Tommy Casey, Daniel Collins, David Goulding, Paul McGrath, Thomas Casey and substitute Philip Lucid - all tremendous prospects and sure to wear the green and gold at some stage.

Nenagh, thanks to three early frees from corner forward Kevin O'Halloran, and a well taken goal by the dangerous Mark McCarthy in the 7th minute, raced into a 1-4 to 0-2 lead after twelve minutes despite playing against the wind.

Causeway finally got going and with Daniel Collins (0-4) and Paul McGrath (0-3) showing unerring accuracy, the sides retired on level terms 0-8 to 1-5.
Nenagh VS took over in the third quarter with Barry Heffernan and Kevin O'Halloran adding three points each and suddenly they moved five clear again (1-12 to 0-10).

Points from Paul McGrath and Collins reduced the gap to three but O'Halloran and Joseph Knight restored Nenagh's five point lead with less than ten remaining.
However "Cometh the hour, cometh the man" as Daniel Collins simply refused to accept defeat and he sent in a high centre in the 52nd minute that eventually found Tomas Casey, who fired the sliothar to the Nenagh net.
Two minutes later Collins picked up a loose ball and fired home a bullet and suddenly Causeway were a point ahead and Philip Lucid added a quick point.
O'Halloran reduced the gap to the minimum but Collins raced eighty meters from deep in his own half to flight the ball to Tomas Casey, who plucked the ball from the skies and blasted the ball to the Nenagh net.

However the drama was not over, as O'Halloran drilled a low ball to the Causeway net in injury time and then with the last puck of the game Mark McCarthy saw his effort for the equalizer come back off the post, allowing John Godley to clear the danger, as Causeway celebrated a famous win.
