Scart/Cordal just lost out in the final last year, but this time out they deservedly captured the division seven crown, though not before a thrilling battle with Waterville/Dromid. 1.jpg The South Kerry combination made a great start, with Eoin O'Sullivan blasting 1-1 and winning a free well-despatched by Fionan Clifford. Cordal/Scart had two long range points from midfielder Johnny O'Connor. Conor Cremin added a free before Sean O'Sullivan pointed after a well-worked move to leave a goal between them.

Within minutes Cordal/Scart was level, albeit with a bit of luck as a high ball by Johnny O'Connor took a wicked twist in the strong wind to end up in the net. Thomas Reidy Cian O'Shea traded scores before the unstoppable O'Connor gave Cordal/Scart a 1-5 to 1-4 half-time lead.

With Padraig Herlihy switching superbly into midfield, Cordal/Scart hit full throttle in the third quarter with 1-1 from Johnny O'Connor, another goal by William O'Connor, and another Conor Cremin free. 3-7 to 1-4. Waterville/Dromid had only the bare thirteen to call on and nothing in reserve, but they didn't need it either and proceeded to fight their way back into the game.

Sam Dwyer had been very well marshalled throughout by Eoghan Horan, but was very dangerous in the second half. His goal bound effort was stopped on the line by corner back Kevin Lenihan, but after keeper Anthony Begley did very well to parry an exquisitely dangerous Fionan Clifford shot, there was O'Dwyer to nip in and tuck it away and he added a point straight after.

A DJ Healy goal opened the gap again and two Conor Cremin points from play made it 4-9 to 2-7, Eoin O'Sullivan hitting another Dromid/Waterville free.
They still wouldn't fold. Sean O'Sullivan blasted to the net. Eoin O'Sullivan, always influential, swung over two more frees. Just the goal between them....but Cordal/Scart held out to take the title.
